Causing Ping Failures on Demand. (Question #58)

Consider two routers connected back to back via their ethernet interfaces. R1 and R2 have very basic configuration with addresses 10.0.0.1/24 and 10.0.0.2/24 on their ethernet interfaces respectively. Pings from R1 to R2 are observed to be successful thus verifying that the network connection between the two routers is fine.

Now add some configuration on either router to cause the following behavior -
  1. If you ping R1 and R2 just after you finish the configuration, the pings should work fine.
  2. The pings should fail in a 2 minute window starting from roughly 5 minutes after you finish configuring the router.
  3. After that 2 minute window the pings should work fine indefinitely.
